Park Agility have recently worked with Mosman Council to implement a clever car parking solution that uses their technology to both improve user experience and help manage overstays.
The multi-level Vista St car park near the indoor swimming centre; the small 45-bay residential Cache car park; and the Bridgepoint shopping centre car park are all ungated, offering free parking for set periods of time. In some cases, each level of a car park offers a different time restriction.
Parking Guidance
Individual PGS bay sensors not only illuminate to indicate bay availability, they also track the time a vehicle enters and exits a bay, allowing the sending of overstay alerts to council parking rangers as needed. This reduces the need for chalking tyres and allows for complimentary timed parking to be available to all residents and visitors to the area who need it.
Licence Plate Recognition
LPR (Licence Plate Recognition) cameras have been installed at entry and exit points to the car parks, to provide additional photographic time and date stamped support to Council for managing parking enforcement. The SenseIQ management system sends data to Council’s third-party enforcement technology provider, via API, allowing for accurate and valuable parking information to flow for enforcement and management purposes.
Precinct Signage
Park Agility refurbished Council’s four existing wayfinding precinct signs as part of this project, removing, cleaning and re-spraying the Raglan St East, Raglan St West and Mosman Square signs, before installing new LED and communication technology inside each sign. This kept the project within Council’s budget whilst ensuring the look and feel they wanted for the streetscape remained intact.
Council’s goal of providing a smooth, complimentary parking experience for users whilst also managing the availability of parking service for all, in an equitable manner, has been achieved through the use of the Park Agility technology, linking LPR, parking guidance and precinct signage plus integration services in one smart solution.
